Struggling to Make Decisions? Read This!

Have you ever struggled with indecisiveness? Have you had a hard time being able to make a decision or knowing what to do? Maybe you have a problem that you are struggling to solve or a situation you are trying to overcome.

Whatever the area of uncertainty is, know that you are not alone. Everyone goes through times when the path is not clear.

Many people make pros and cons lists in an effort to make a decision. Others ask family or friends for their advice. And some people throw up their hands and say “I’ll never figure this out.”

Getting clear on your thinking and asking others for their opinions is not a bad thing. But, the real clarity lies behind the problem. Focus on what you want if the problem or decision was no longer there. For example, if you were trying to decide between two different jobs, think about what you want your life to look like over the next few years. Do you want flexibility? Do you want to have a face-to-face social network? Visualize what you want your life to look like beyond the decision.

If you are struggling with losing weight, instead of focusing on which diet or exercise plan to start, focus on what you want to look like and feel like after you have reached your ideal weight. Do you see yourself running in a marathon? Effortlessly playing with your grandchildren or taking trips?

Now this doesn’t mean that you don’t DO anything. Of course, you have to create a plan and take action steps. But if you focus on the end result and then develop a plan, your plan will include the necessary things needed to achieve what you have been visualizing as your end result. What you focus on expands.

If you focus on your problem, you will continue to have a problem. If you focus on the end results, you will take inspired action to achieve the results you’ve imagined.
