The Power of Positive Affirmations in Your Daily Life

Have you ever wanted your very own Aibileen from “The Help” to help you feel good about yourself, each and every day? But who says you need to wait for someone else to hype you up?

Daily positive affirmations can be incredibly powerful tools to help you feel more in tune with yourself, feel more confident and uplifted, and build your self-belief around certain key skills.

It can take a little practice and sometimes feel awkward at first, so don’t worry! It can feel odd to talk to yourself each and every day - but you’ll soon get used to it and start reaping the benefits.

Why Use Affirmations?

Daily affirmations can have a positive effect on people of all ages, from children and teenagers to adults later on in life. For children, it’s a great way to build their self-confidence at an early age. If you’re a parent encouraging your child, think about what values you would like them to have. Their affirmations might be focused on working hard at school, being kind to their friends and siblings, or being proud of who they are.

For adults, the same rules apply. Focus on what you want to instil in yourself. Often, there are things we wish we believed about ourselves: That we are enough as we are, that we are strong, or that we have the power to take control of our lives. Those things are true, but believing them sometimes requires some self-convincing.

What Are Affirmations?

Positive affirmations can help teach yourself to truly believe those qualities and values. Over time, they can help us grow enormously and embrace more positivity in our lives.
