Did you have a goal for 2020 that became impossible to achieve once the pandemic hit?
I get it. I had all sorts of plans for my consulting business at the beginning of this year - but once COVID-19 hit, my entire focus needed to be on leading eSucceed Virtual School. In particular, once the school year started, our booming enrollment required every once of my energy and attention!
But I’m taking this new calendar year as my fresh start. I’m pivoting what didn’t work in 2020 into all-new objectives for 2021. My eSucceed staff has worked incredibly hard to develop systems and routines that work for the kids under our care. This leaves me a little breathing room, after hours, to focus on developing my other professional passions and interests.
It all comes down to mindset. I recently wrote about mindset work in education, including how educators and parents can establish a growth mindset in students.
Now, I’m talking about having the right mindset for your own, personal success.
How do you view setbacks? Are they insurmountable roadblocks… or are they opportunities for growth?
I’ve heard amazing stories of resilience this year. From businesses that pivoted into completely different spaces to individual families who found innovative ways to keep their kids engaged in their educations, we all know a success story!
What all those stories have in common is an undeniable resilience in the face of adversity. And, they didn’t let seemingly impossible challenges stop them from reaching their goals.
In closing, I’d like to share a quote from Jack Canfield: “You can’t hire someone else to do your push-ups for you.”
The results are possible. It just takes work, on your part, to get there. Let’s make 2021 the best year, yet!
