It’s natural to lose motivation or hit a sticking point that prevents you from moving forward to achieve your goals. Whether it’s your personal or professional life, all of us will feel that way at some point!
However, sometimes getting unstuck is easier said than done. After all, it’s one thing to set goals but it’s a whole other beast when it comes to developing strategies to achieve them. Some people write off daily affirmations but their power has been well-documented. Affirmations help me overcome negative emotions and feel more in control.
The way you speak to yourself matters. It determines your mindset and inspires you to work toward those hard-to-reach goals. Without positive affirmations, you’re often walking into a losing battle.
If you’re constantly telling yourself you can’t do XYZ, you’ll start to believe that it really is impossible. However, if you hype yourself up and fill your mind with positive thoughts, you’re in a better position to tackle those hard goals!
It can be easy to think you need to wait for the “perfect moment” to start acting on your goals. You’ll start eating better on Monday… or you’ll apply for a new job after you get the promotion you’ve had your eye on at your current job… or you’ll launch your business after listening to just a few more podcasts.
But the truth is, there is no perfect time. If you keep waiting, you’re only losing time.
Take the First Step
It really is as easy as that. Just take the first step! Nothing gets accomplished overnight, especially big, scary goals, but first steps can happen at any time. And usually, that first step is the hardest one to take. Once you put some momentum behind your goals, you’ll be inspired to keep moving forward.
No matter how skilled, educated, or experienced you are, there are going to be moments of failure. It’s totally normal!
Rather than pausing due to a fear of failure, embrace it. Embrace that the first time you do something, it’s going to be messy. Embrace that sometimes big risks lead to failures. Everything that happens can be used as a teachable moment with a lesson that will help us achieve our goals in the end.
